Furthermore, it increases the volume of the fecal matter by promoting the regularization of bowel. Its ability to bind bile acids, which emulsify the fat, also make it useful in lowering cholesterol and triglycerides, since they promote its excretion.]

Indications:

- Obesity treatment - Nutrition - Gut Regularization - Lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels - reduce glucose levels in diabetics - acts in the digestive system - operates in the circulatory system - acts on the immune system - Preventing gastric ulcers - Treating benign hypertrophy in prostate.

Weight Loss:   The Nopal is best known as a natural way to lose weight. It has lot of fiber that reduces appetite and the accumulated fat is decreased and excretions are increased. The Nopal offers vegetable protein that helps the body to remove tissue fluid in the bloodstream, reducing cellulite and fluid retention.

Slimming properties Nopal

  • Nopal contains fibers, such as pectin and mucilage. This acts providing satiety and removal of hunger.

  • This same fiber acts purifying the body and the elimination of waste and toxins from the body.

  • Regulates the concentration of glucose in the blood, which reduces the need to consume foods rich in sugars.

It contains as antioxidant vitamins C and E, which improves the metabolism of cells and lipids.

   Nutrition

Nopal is high in nutrients that strengthen the liver and pancreas; the health of these two glands are vitally important for the conversion of carbohydrate to sugar supplied glycogen as energy usable by the body. The production and insulin sensitivity of cells to insulin body which is required to move glucose from the bloodstream into body cells where it is used as energy. Vitamins found in nopal (A, B1, B2, B3, and C), minerals (calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, and iron) and fibers (Lignan, cellulose, hemicellulose, pectin, mucilage and rubber) together with 18 amino acids also found in nopal help detoxify and maintenance of the kidneys and the pancreas, while improving the body's cell response to insulin stimulation.

Digestive aid system and prevention of ulcers:    The active ingredients found in Nopal help in preventing the digestive system to absorb dietary fat and excess carbohydrate sugar, thereby maintaining proper blood sugar balance and helping to control obesity.

Vegetable protein found in Nopal (amino acids) helps tissue fluid from the body through the bloodstream in reducing thecellulite and fluid retention. The accumulated fat is prevented, while fat and excretion are increased. Pectin and lignan is found in nopal are also known to increase satiety (decreased appetite). These are important factors in obesity control.

Immune System:    The phytochemicals are powerful allies of the body's immune system, allowing it to defend the body against pathogens. Recent studies have found that among the phytochemicals found in nopal are the types which inhibit the growth of cancer cell and may even help prevent cancer developing. The animal studies confirm this, showing that the dosages of nopal enhance immune system effectiveness in tumor growth control, Epstein-Barr virus and suppressed immune response.

Circulatory System:   The nopal operates in various modes that have been found to reduce the risk of heart disease. First, the fiber found in nopal acts to absorb and excrete cholesterol in the digestive system. Second, amino acids, fiber and B3 (niacin) found in nopal prevent sugar excess converted to fat, reducing triglycerides and LDL cholesterol levels by metabolizing fatty acids and fat and eliminating excess of bile acids consequently converted to cholesterol. B3 (niacin) in Nopal acts to convert LDL (bad) cholesterol in HDL (good) cholesterol. Additionally, amino acids, fiber, together with the antioxidant effect of vitamin C and vitamin (B-carotene) found in nopal, help prevent blood wall damage and the formation of fatty plaques in the arteries (atherosclerosis).

Urinary System:   The nopal is used as an anti-inflammatory diuretic. These effects include bioflavonoids, amino acids , and fiber nopal.
