Mega Vitamin D3 


  Any vitamin is a megavitamin when taken in a dose far greater than the average daily required amount. However, not all vitamins that are great for your hair are safe for consumption in such large doses. This is due to the solubility of the vitamin. Fat-soluble vitamins, like vitamin D, are stored in your body until they are needed for use. If you ingest too much of these fat-soluble vitamins, you may experience birth defects, heart problems and osteoporosis, according to the Food and Drug Administration. For these reasons vitamins A, D, E and K should never be taken in large doses.


Vitamin C
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that promotes new cell and tissue growth throughout the body. Vitamin C also helps rid the body of free radicals that contribute to premature aging. These combined effects leave your hair looking younger, thicker, shinier and healthier. While side effects from taking vitamin C are very rare, Medline Plus, part of the National Institutes of Health, recommends taking no more than 2,000 mg a day. If you take a larger dose, you risk vomiting and diarrhea.

 

B-Complex
A B-complex vitamin consists of all eight B vitamins. B vitamins aid in the metabolic process improving your blood supply and digestion. According to WorldofHair.com, this results in an improved blood flow to the scalp, which promotes healthier hair growth. B vitamins also can slow the graying process. By preventing anemia, B vitamins may even prevent hair loss. However, too much B-complex may cause liver damage, fatigue and, in the case of B-6, nerve damage. Other Vitamins
While it's not safe to take in large doses, vitamin A, often found in the form of beta-carotene, and vitamin E are wonderful vitamins for hair health.
